The Toowoomba Wellcamp Airport has taken early line honours at the 2024 Toowoomba Marathon coming on board for three years as the major presenting partner for the Sunday 5 May event.

The Toowoomba Marathon presented by Toowoomba Wellcamp Airport will pound the pavements of Toowoomba’s picturesque garden and tree-lined streets with more than 1,500 participants expected in the inaugural race.

With a four-year hiatus from a major running event in the city, the initiative is attracting plenty of attention with participants from all over Australia and a number from overseas already registered.

Events Management Queensland CEO, Ben Mannion welcomed the Toowoomba Wellcamp Airport to the team and congratulated them on having the confidence and foresight to support a new event in the city.

“We are delighted the Toowoomba Wellcamp Airport has partnered with us. This event is certain to deliver strong economic and tourism impacts to the region this year and in the future.

“The fact that businesses from the city are prepared to support the Toowoomba Marathon delivers a strong message to the region and we are confident that their enthusiasm will extend to the regional community, and they enter what will be a world-class event in their own back yard,” Mr Mannion said.
