Toowoomba Wellcamp Airport takes early line honours as presenting partner of Toowoomba Marathon

The Toowoomba Wellcamp Airport has taken early line honours at the 2024 Toowoomba Marathon coming on board for three years as the major presenting partner for the Sunday 5 May event.
The Toowoomba Marathon presented by Toowoomba Wellcamp Airport will pound the pavements of Toowoomba’s picturesque garden and tree-lined streets with more than 1,500 participants expected in the inaugural race.
With a four-year hiatus from a major running event in the city, the initiative is attracting plenty of attention with participants from all over Australia and a number from overseas already registered.
Events Management Queensland CEO, Ben Mannion welcomed the Toowoomba Wellcamp Airport to the team and congratulated them on having the confidence and foresight to support a new event in the city.
“We are delighted the Toowoomba Wellcamp Airport has partnered with us. This event is certain to deliver strong economic and tourism impacts to the region this year and in the future.
“The fact that businesses from the city are prepared to support the Toowoomba Marathon delivers a strong message to the region and we are confident that their enthusiasm will extend to the regional community, and they enter what will be a world-class event in their own back yard,” Mr Mannion said.

Toowoomba Wellcamp Airport General Manager Kellie Banditt said they were looking forward to working with Events Management Queensland to promote the event and the travel options through the airport.
“We see the potential this event presents to attract participants from all over Australia and overseas with our airport offering direct services from Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne, Townsville and regional destinations throughout Queensland.
“This event diversifies the opportunities for Toowoomba over and above its existing festival and event calendar and will introduce a whole new audience to the city and the ease of travel and connections through the Toowoomba Wellcamp Airport,” Ms Banditt said.

Queensland Minister for Tourism and Sport, Michael Healy said the announcement that Toowoomba Wellcamp Airport would become the major presenting partner for the Toowoomba Marathon will really help the event to take flight.
“Toowoomba Wellcamp Airport jumping on-board to support the Toowoomba Marathon is great news for this new event on our Queensland events calendar.
“The Marathon is the perfect opportunity to showcase the region’s many attractions while providing a real boost to the local visitor economy.
Thousands of participants and their support crews are expected to make the pilgrimage to the Garden City, which is great news for local hotels, restaurants and bars, and tourism operators.”
